Rosberg says Williams deserved better

Nico Rosberg believes his Williams team did not achieve the result it deserved at the British Grand Prix, despite coming home in a strong fifth position

Rosberg, starting from seventh place, put on another solid performance and equalled his best result of the season.

But the German, who had to defend his position from championship leader Jenson Button in the final part of the race, admitted he was hoping for more.

"It's not the most comfortable feeling when you have a huge white car coming close to you like one-and-a-half seconds a lap," Rosberg told the BBC about Button.

"But, I knew that on this track it is very difficult to overtake and he didn't have KERS either so all I had to do is not make a mistake and that's not a problem normally.

"So, it wasn't too bad, but still I'm very pleased for the whole team and for myself, that we finished another good race. Still, didn't get the result that we deserved again today.

"I think we deserved a little bit better and the problem was Barrichello in the middle stint went so damn slow, so I was just stuck and that cost me fourth place to Felipe, otherwise fourth place was guaranteed and we even had a shot at the podium today. It was nice to see."

Rosberg, however, said he was happy with Williams's form ahead of his home race.

"I'm quite pleased. Really I have to say a big compliment to the team at the moment. They are doing a great job - really fantastic - in terms of development - out-developing a lot of big teams and things like that.

"I'm really enjoying to see what a good job they are doing and so I look forward to the next race, especially my home race coming up."
