Rossi tops Catalunya warm-up

Valentino Rossi has emerged as the quickest man in the warm-up ahead of this afternoon's Catalunya Grand Prix

The reigning MotoGP champion traded fastest laps with Yamaha team-mate Jorge Lorenzo throughout the 20-minute session, and in the end the Italian beat the Spaniard by half a tenth thanks to a 1m42.743s lap.

Colin Edwards made it a 1-2-3 for Yamaha by setting the third quickest time with his Tech 3 satellite bike, three tenths behind Rossi.

Casey Stoner's Ducati set the fifth fastest time, squeezed between the two Hondas of Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa.

Sete Gibernau managed to clock seventh fastest with the Hernando Ducati, ahead of Loris Capirossi's Suzuki, Yuki Takahashi's Scot Honda and Randy de Puniet's LCR Honda.
