Barrichello out to deny Button home win

The Brazilian has been left frustrated about his failure to take a victory this year, having seen Button triumph six times in the seven races held so far, but thinks Silverstone could be his big chance to make amends.

The Northamptonshire track is one of Barrichello's favourites, the Brazilian having triumphed there in 2003 and finished on the podium last year, and he has made no secret of the fact that he is gunning to end his win drought on Button's home soil.

"Silverstone is my top one," said Barrichello. "It's a place I very much enjoy. The racing track for me is fantastic. It hurts me to see that Silverstone could not be on the calendar next year, more than Canada.

"It's horrible Canada won't be there, but Silverstone hurts me more, not just for the feeling, but it is fast and safe, and that is all we want. I think I'll give Jenson a run for his money at Silverstone."

Barrichello was unabashed by the fact that the British GP is probably the one race that Button is desperate to win.

"Oh yeah, absolutely, and the same for me in Brazil," he said. "But at the end of the day, after 17 years, there is no emotional side on this. You've got to win, and if you have the chance, you don't think twice.

"Although we enjoy, not just our professional lives but our personal lives because we have dinners together and so on, he would say the same thing. He would want to win in Brazil without even thinking."

Barrichello currently lies 26 points behind Button in the title standings, having retired from last weekend's Turkish Grand Prix with a gearbox problem.
