Q & A with Stefano Domenicali

Stefano Domenicali: I think that the meeting shows that on one side there is a very united group of teams that were discussing with the president of the FIA about the future, and above all this regulation. That is what I can say.

Q. No agreement was reached. It seems there is still an impass there, the FIA won't relax its stance on budget caps and the teams don't want budget caps?

SD: I think that, as we said, it's a work in progress. We are working hard to find a solution and I think today the teams showed our unity, with a different perspective but it was important to reiterate our concept.

Q. Max Mosley said that today Ferrari is in a French court to try to get an injunction. Can you tell us what you know about that?

SD: What I can say is that there is nothing new in that. If you look at what was the outcome of our board, the Ferrari board, was clearly indicated that the president has the mandate from the board to protect the rights of Ferrari.

Q. What are those rights, to veto regulations?

SD: I think I cannot go into these details. There are certain things that are in these rights and no more than that.

Q. Do you expect Ferrari to be in F1 in 2010?

SD: For us it's very important, it's our life. We want to fight in order to make sure that we will be in the championship in the right way.

Q. Do you see a budget cap that all the teams can agree to?

SD: No I think this is not the right thing to say because we are discussing together as the teams, and I don't want to go into these details please.

Q. If there is a way of cost cutting across the board, then you would be available to do that?

SD: I think that is not only the case. We need to discuss about other things regarding the governance and the way the ruling is done. It's not only this point on the table of the discussion.

Q. How important is the deadline for the 29th of this month to enter for next season?

SD: You know what is our position. I think that the time is short, but we will try to work very hard.

Q. Do you think something can be done in the next fortnight?

SD: We will try.
