Buemi targets Q2 with aero upgrade

Sebastien Buemi is hoping the aerodynamic package introduced by Scuderia Toro Rosso this weekend will be a good step forward for the team

The Swiss, who has scored points in two out of four races so far this season, believes the true potential of the updated STR04 won't become clear until today's two free practice sessions are complete.

"We have a lot of new parts," said Buemi. "Hopefully it's going to work well, but you never know before you try them.

"We have no testing, so we have tried to be as prepared as possible but it's always a big question whether everything you put on the car is going to work.

"We're quite confident, but we will see what happens in practice."

Buemi added that this is the first significant update STR has brought online this season, and that he is targeting being able to make Q2 easily this weekend.

"This aero package is the biggest thing since the beginning of the season," he said. "We don't know how much the others are going to improve, but I am confident.

"Without any mistakes, we should make it into Q2. In China, we made it really easily into Q2 and then into Q3. It's so close that two tenths either way can make the difference between it being easy and out."
