Herbert wins second Sakhir race

Reigning champion Johnny Herbert took his first win of the new Speedcar season in race two at Sakhir

The three-time Grand Prix winner started sixth under the championship's reverse grid system, but quickly worked his way forwards before beginning a long battle for the lead with Gianni Morbidelli.

The Italian managed to fend off Herbert off until the final lap, when a slight error by Morbidelli allowed Herbert to slip through and grab the win.

Former FIA GT champion Thomas Biagi took a fine third place in his first weekend in the Speedcar Series, having led the opening laps.

Fourth place for Heinz-Harald Frentzen kept the German in the championship lead, while Damien Pasini fended off Jean Alesi for fifth position.
