Yvan Muller joins RoC line-up
World Touring Car champion Yvan Muller will partner his World Rally Championship counterpart Sebastien Loeb in the French squad at this year's Race of Champions
Muller's appearance at Wembley will be the fourth time he has contested the RoC, and means that the WTCC, WRC and Formula One champions will all be in action at the event, with Lewis Hamilton set to demonstrate his McLaren F1 car while Muller and Loeb take part in the main competition.
"When you are invited to take part in the Race of Champions, you say yes," said Muller.
"It is a great event and, to be able to race without having special targets, just to give some fun to the fans is good."
He added that he was also pleased to have another opportunity to race in Britain this season, having spent eight years in the domestic touring car series, winning the 2003 title.
"Racing in a stadium like Wembley is a very different experience to what I do the rest of the year, and I am very happy that I can do a second event in the UK this year, after the Brands Hatch round of the WTCC," said Muller.
RoC organiser Fredrik Johnsson reckons Muller, a ten-time champion in the Andros Trophy ice racing series, will be one of the stars of this year's event.
"Yvan has long been one of the most popular and admired drivers thanks to his flamboyant and often spectacular driving style," Johnsson said.
"He has thrilled audiences all over the world with a flare behind the wheel that will serve him well on the Race of Champions track, as well as providing the crowds with yet more mastery to enjoy."
