Garza tops final practice for Mexico
David Garza set the quickest time for Team Mexico in the final practice session for this weekend's A1GP rounds at Sepang
Garza shot up the order and posted a time more than half a second quicker than anyone else late in the session, after he bolted on a set of new tyres for his trial of the lap-long power boost that the teams will have at their disposal in qualifying later today.
"We were working hard on the setup and we wanted to find out what the car would do on new tyres in a qualifying run this afternoon," said Garza.
"It's more exciting in the fast corners, but you have to be careful when you put the power down and you have to be more controlled with the throttle. I liked it and we're ready for qualifying now."
Team Switzerland's Neel Jani had been quickest for most of the session before Garza's boost-aided effort, just ahead of Loic Duval - who was set for a quicker time himself on his power boost lap until a technical problem slowed his car and then forced him to stop out on track.
Team Netherlands finished the session fourth fastest, ahead of India and the USA, with yesterday's pace setters Great Britain eighth.
