Glock escapes penalty at Valencia
The European Grand Prix race stewards have decided that no action needs to be taken against Timo Glock despite his involvement in an incident in qualifying with Nick Heidfeld
Glock forced Heidfeld off the racing line during Q1, causing his BMW Sauber rival to lock up and run wide. A furious Heidfeld gesticulated with his middle finger at Glock, and called on the German to be punished for the incident.
However, following an investigation by the race stewards, it has been decided that Glock had not done anything that warranted a penalty.
A statement issued on Saturday said: "The Stewards after hearing the explanation of both the competitors representatives and the drivers decided that the incident requires no further action."
Heidfeld still felt that Glock's actions were as bad as Sebastian Bourdais' in Hungary, when the Frenchman was penalised for impeding the BMW Sauber driver.
"I couldn't believe it - I was held up by Timo and of course I had Budapest in my mind because it was exactly the same," explained the German.
"Luckily I was on the prime tyres which could manage two laps and the next lap was clear, so I went into Q2."
