Glock unsure of Toyota's Valencia pace

Timo Glock says it is impossible to know whether he will be able to produce the kind of pace he showed in Hungary and Germany, at Formula One's new street circuit in Valencia this weekend

The German, who scored his first podium with a strong second place in Budapest three weeks ago, says the midfield battle between Toyota, Renault, Red Bull and Scuderia Toro Rosso is so close that it is difficult to predict who will be fastest from one weekend to the next.

"Every time we come to a track I'm not sure where we are because it's just so tight around the top ten," he said. "We just have to wait and see how it goes. It would be great for us to keep our momentum up.

"At Hockenheim too we had good pace, although the result didn't show it, but Budapest showed that we made another step and hopefully we can repeat it here."

Glock admits that his own personal level has gone up since the start of the year, but claims that his progress has not always been obvious thanks to the close level of the competition.

"I improved myself quite a lot through the year," he said. "The problem is the result doesn't always show that we progressed from race to race.

"In Budapest it showed what we can do when the car is just how I need it. So far it's just really good to see how we make steps in the right direction and it's just good fun."
