Rosberg: I'm staying at Williams

Nico Rosberg insists he is '100 percent' committed to staying at Williams next year - despite speculation this week that he could be a free agent for 2009

Michael Schumacher's manager Willi Weber, who also looks after Williams test driver Niko Hulkenberg, suggested to the German media that Rosberg could walk away from his current team due to a performance-related clause in his contract.

But Rosberg and his team boss Frank Williams have rubbished those claims - and both say that there is no doubt that their partnership will continue in 2009.

When asked by autosport.com if he could talk about his plans for next year, Rosberg said: "Yes I can. I am at Williams. I am committed to it 100%."

Williams added: "We have a two-year contract and there are no conditions. It's two years, this is the first year and we are halfway through. That's all you need to know from me."

Rosberg did admit, however, that there was an element of frustration he was not making the kind of impact on Formula One that other relative newcomers like Robert Kubica and Lewis Hamilton were.

"Of course I have the feeling that I really want to slowly but surely get going," he said. "I really want to get some strong results because my whole F1 career I haven't had the chance to fight for podiums, or a very few number of times maybe. So I have that feeling, but on the other hand this is F1 and I have to be patient.

"Some people are lucky and make the best of it, and they come in to the right place at the right time, like Lewis for example. And he fully deserves it obviously. Some people it takes a bit longer, like Mika Hakkinen, like me. That's just a reality."
