Grapevine: Priaulx to get BMW F1 run at Brands

Triple world touring car champion Andy Priaulx will return to the wheel of a Formula One car when he takes to Brands Hatch with a BMW Sauber next month

Priaulx, who had already tasted F1 machinery before, will perform demonstration laps around the grand prix circuit, in between racing in his BMW 320si WTCC car for the Brands Hatch round on 26-27 July.

"The WTCC at Brands Hatch promises to be another great weekend," said Priaulx, who had tested for the BMW Williams team in 2005.

"It's always a highlight for me to race in front of my home crowd and I'm looking forward to giving the fans something to cheer about, both in the WTCC races and the F1 car.

"This is an amazing time for the BMW Sauber F1 Team and to have the chance to show the fans an F1 car at Brands Hatch is a real treat for me and them. The noise will be phenomenal and it promises to be a real spectacle."

MotorSport Vision's Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer added: "We're thrilled that BMW has chosen Brands Hatch to showcase their Formula One car.

"The sheer speed, sight and particularly sound of a current top F1 car will be quite amazing and undoubtedly draw a huge crowd on this unique occasion."
