Honda target more points in France
Honda team principal Ross Brawn is hopeful the Japanese squad can score points on merit at this weekend's French Grand Prix
Rubens Barrichello finished in seventh place at the Canadian Grand Prix, the Brazilian even managing to lead the race for a few laps.
Brawn admitted the Montreal result came thanks to the safety car and to their rivals hitting trouble.
But the Briton is confident Honda's car will be better suited for the Magny-Cours circuit, where he reckons the team can score points thanks to their speed.
"We expect the RA108 to be back on the pace of our midfield competitors in Magny-Cours this weekend," said Brawn."Whilst Rubens led the last race in Canada for a short time and scored valuable points, we are fully aware that his race was helped by the safety car and retirements.
"The track at the Circuit de Nevers requires a much higher level of downforce and has a smooth surface which should suit our car much better than the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal.
"I expect a stronger performance this weekend and we will be looking to get into the points on the merit of the car's performance."
