Red Bull to test Alguersuari

Red Bull Racing have drafted in British Formula Three front-runner Jaime Alguersuari for straightline testing of their car in Spain next week

Alguersuari, who lies third in the British F3 standings after winning one race so far this year, will drive the RB4 for the team's pre-Turkish Grand Prix shakedown at the Idiadi Proving Ground.

"It's a very special opportunity for me and I wouldn't have imagined I would have this chance so early in my career," Alguersuari told autosport.com.

"After Fernando Alonso I am the first driver from Spain to get a big contract, so of course the aim is Formula One and I'm very thankful to Red Bull.

"This is like a present for me and I hope to learn the car and the environment as much as I can, but my main goal this year still has to be F3. I need to win that championship."

The 18-year-old Spaniard has been called up because Red Bull Racing's test driver Sebastien Buemi cannot make it because he will be on his way to Istanbul to take part in the GP2 event.
