ROC likely to return to Wembley in '08
Race of Champions organiser Fredrik Johnsson thinks there is a 'very good' chance the event will return to Wembley next year following its debut at the London stadium last weekend
Although the ROC failed to attract a sell-out audience, Johnsson thinks there were enough encouraging signs for the event to return to Wembley next year.
"[It was] very positive, very, very positive," he told autosport.com about the event. "The drivers put on a great show, they liked the track and there was a good response from the crowd that was here.
"We have a lot of offers in the future from big stadiums and other places around the world, but we will sit down and talk to Wembley in the new year and I think there is a very good chance that we will come back here."
With ROC organisers having turned down offers from the Berlin Olympic Stadium and the Miami Dolphins stadium prior to choosing Wembley, Johnsson thinks there were reasons last week's event wasn't sold out.
"We would have expected a sell-out, but I don't know if the fact that they moved two big football matches from Saturday to Sunday changed something," he said.
"Also, it is just before Christmas and a lot of people are out shopping, so that could have had an affect as well. We had some issues as well with the tickets as well; apparently they got out very late to people. But these are things we have to work on for next year."
Johnsson also confirmed that ROC organisers would once again try and convince Lewis Hamilton to take part next year.
