Lorenzo focused on front-end feeling

Jorge Lorenzo believes that the main area he needs to improve on is his feeling with the front end of a MotoGP bike

The reigning 250cc world champion has taken a cautious approach to learning Yamaha's M1 since the end of the season, and after the second day at Sepang he explained the key areas where he feels he is losing time.

"I feel like I am making progress in some areas, but I'm still having trouble under braking," he said, "and I don't feel so comfortable with the front end.

"We made some improvements in this area but I know we have much more to do. I still have a lot to learn and some changes to make to my riding style."

The 20-year-old added that he was feeling the effects of a long day of running in the Malaysian heat, as he prepares for the third day of the test.

"Today was hard work and I am honestly quite tired after six hours of riding in this heat," he said.

"The most important thing at the moment though is to improve the feeling with the front end so we will try again tomorrow."

Lorenzo's team manager Danielle Romagnolli added: "Jorge is improving but the major factor we need to work on is the braking.

"Tonight we will check some data and analyse the situation together with the rider to work out how to improve things for him."
