Webber: Hamilton to be even stronger in '08

Lewis Hamilton's rivals should brace themselves for an even more difficult time against him next year, as the Briton will almost certainly be a stronger driver in 2008

That is the view of Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber, who thinks that Hamilton will be much improved next year as he learns from the mistakes he made this season.

Speaking ahead of the season finale in Brazil, Webber said that he believed Hamilton was the man most worthy of the title - even though it has not been a perfect season for the rookie.

"Probably Hamilton (deserves it), but he has had a couple of howlers too," said Webber. "Whenever there have been big decisions to be made he has been poor, very poor, but when there have been no decisions to be made he has been exceptional. Absolutely exceptional.

"He has done a brilliant job and unfortunately for us guys he is going to learn from those things and he is only going to get better."

Despite his views about Hamilton's potential to be stronger in the future, Webber is not convinced that F1 is heading to a period of single man domination.

He thinks that McLaren's form will likely fluctuate in the future, and that means Hamilton could find himself in uncompetitive machinery at certain points.

"He is going to have some shitboxes on his hands in the future," said Webber. "You don't have a quick McLaren every year.

"He will be fifth, sixth, seventh on the grid in years in the future. It is what happens. So he will have some sheds to drive and we will see how he deals with those. That is the game we are in."
