FIA to inspect Fuji's pitlane entry

The FIA will look into whether or not modifications need to be made to the Fuji pitlane entry overnight, following concerns expressed by drivers in their briefing on Friday evening

The high-speed right-left flick has been criticised by several drivers, who feel that the close proximity of the barriers mean that a small mistake could result in a big accident.

Following discussions about the matter in Friday's night drivers' briefing, the FIA has agreed that it will look into the design overnight and consider whether or not anything can be changed for the start of Saturday practice.

Rubens Barrichello said after the meeting: "We spoke about it and they are going to have a look at what they can do tonight."

David Coulthard added: "They will look at it before tomorrow morning. We are all in unanimous agreement that it's the most difficult corner of the track."

Mark Webber was doubtful, however, that anything can be done this weekend - and believes changes may have to wait until next year.

"I don't know if they will be able to make the changes," he said. "It's definitely something that needs to be addressed for next year, but I'm not too worried about it really."
