Vitaphone Maserati claim front row
Michael Bartels secured pole position at Brno in an FIA GT Championship qualifying session dominated by his Vitaphone Racing Maserati team
The German put the car he shares with points leader Thomas Biagi on provisional pole early in the GT1 part of the session and proved impossible to beat.
Their teammates Christian Montanari and Miguel Ramos moved into second place moments later, lapping just 0.061 seconds slower, to complete an all-Vitaphone front row.
Karl Wendlinger and Ryan Sharp will start third in the JetAlliance Aston Martin, alongside Mike Hezemans and Jean-Denis Deletraz's Carsport Holland Corvette.
Having been fastest in final practice, Lamborghini pair Peter Kox and Jos Menten could only manage fifth in qualifying.
Biagi's nearest title rivals Andrea Piccini and Andrea Bartolini took sixth, ahead of their Playteam Maserati teammates Giambattista Giannoccaro and Alessandro Pier Guidi.
Local favourite Tomas Enge's return to the series in a RBImmo Racing Saleen S7R overseen by Franz Konrad has not proved successful so far. Enge and co-driver Reinhard Kofler were only 14th in qualifying, five seconds off the pace.
GT2 points leader Dirk Muller and Toni Vilander took class pole for AF Corse Ferrari. Muller lapped half a second clear of nearest class rivals Tim Mullen and Darren Turner in the Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari.
Gianmaria Bruni and Stephane Ortelli will start third in the second AF Corse car.
