Raikkonen expecting very close race
Kimi Raikkonen is expecting a very close Belgian Grand Prix after securing pole position by less than a tenth of a second
The Finn, winner of the previous two Belgian Grands Prix with the McLaren team, took his 13th career pole and the third of the season, beating Ferrari teammate Felipe Massa by 0.017 seconds.
World champion Fernando Alonso was also less than a tenth behind Raikkonen in third.
Raikkonen admitted he knew Ferrari to be stronger than in the previous race in Monza, but he is still expecting a close fight tomorrow.
"We knew that Monza was going to be a bit tricky for us and this a bit more like Turkey. We expected to be strong here. It will be close tomorrow, we need to do the best we can," said Raikkonen.
"We should have a good start, and we'll try to go from there. We are usually strong in the race, we are hopeful we can have a strong race. Anything can happen. We will try out best tomorrow."
Raikkonen, who struggled with neck problems in Monza following a crash on Saturday, said he was feeling fine ahead of tomorrow's race.
"The neck is okay, I am sure it is no 100 percent right but it should be fine," he added.
