Bakkerud returns from injury at Spa
Christian Bakkerud will return to GP2 action this weekend after missing the previous round at Monza
The Danish driver had struggled with back problems at several races this year, and he was replaced for the Italian races by DPR's former driver Olivier Pla.
However, Bakkerud has been declared fit for this weekend's races at Spa, after going through intensive physiotherapy and specialist treatment.
"I've been working hard to get back to race fitness for this weekend and the doctors have given me the all-clear, so I'm all set for a return to the driving seat," he said.
"With only two weekends left of this season, there's little time left to bring home points, so I need to get back on the pace as quickly as possible."
The 22-year-old is hoping that he will be able to get back up to speed quickly, as he already knows the Spa circuit from his Formula Three days.
"I raced here last season in British F3 in atrocious weather," he said. "It's a very challenging track and it should be great to drive in the GP2 car, so hopefully I'll be able to put my experience to good use."
