Asmer on race one pole at Croft

The Hitech driver's performance in Saturday's first qualifying session means that he is well poised to win the title in the first race tomorrow.

His nearest championship challenger Maro Engel (Carlin Motorsport) has given himself a chance of stopping Asmer by snatching a front-row starting position.

However, even if Engel wins the race Asmer will have to finish lower than third to not take the title.

Niall Breen (Carlin Motorsport) kept up his good form despite losing practice time with engine trouble yesterday, and will start third. He'll be next to Double R's Stephen Jelley, who won last time out at Thruxton.

Franky Cheng (Performance Racing) outqualified National Class leader Sergio Perez (T-Sport), but he is unlikely to be able to stop the latter taking the title unless Perez fails to score.
