Premat hands Tomczyk victory
Alexandre Premat gave up his maiden DTM victory to let Martin Tomczyk take the spoils at Zandvoort
Premat had taken the lead from the German in the closing stages, but on the final lap he slowed by three seconds, and he let Tomczyk through coming out of the last corner.
Timo Scheider also slowed to hand championship leader Mattias Ekstrom third place on the final lap, while Bruno Spengler was the top Mercedes driver in fifth place.
Spengler had been running third in the closing stages, but he was passed by Ekstrom for fourth place on the final lap, after Scheider had muscled his way past just a few laps earlier.
Christian Abt took sixth place after he had also let Ekstrom through in the closing stages, and he managed to hold off Mika Hakkinen to the end.
Hakkinen had lost out to Ekstrom while he was stuck behind Abt, while Alexandros Magaritis took the final point in eighth place.
Ekstrom had led the race in the early stages, but he dropped down the order as he lacked the pace to match the cars that pitted before him, and he also had a slow pit stop.
That left Tomczyk heading for victory, but he had a couple of slow laps, which allowed Premat into the lead, seemingly heading for his maiden victory.
The results mean that Ekstrom now leads Tomczyk by eight points in the championship, while Spengler is a further four points back in third place.
