Ferrari, Toro Rosso wrap up Mugello test
The Ferrari and Toro Rosso team completed on Thursday their three-day testing programme at the Mugello circuit
Brazilian Felipe Massa took over from Ferrari's test driver Luca Badoer to wrap up the Italian squad's preparations for the upcoming races.
Massa focused on testing new mechanical components for the F2007 car, covering 68 laps with a fastest one of 1:20.194.
Scott Speed was again the man in charge of testing duties for Toro Rosso, but the American's day was hindered by severe pains in his lower back.
Despite that, Speed managed 74 laps with a best time of 1:23.590.
"The programme was pretty much the same as for the past two days," said chief engineer Laurent Mekies. "We worked on validating some new aero components for the Hungarian Grand Prix, by doing some runs in maximum downforce configuration, as well as assessing various brake materials.
"High speed Mugello might not be the ideal venue to simulate slow speed Hungaroring, but at least the temperatures were similar to those we might experience next weekend."
