Trulli not expecting podiums in 2007

Jarno Trulli thinks Toyota are going to have to accept that they are not going to finish on the podium this year, despite their pre-season promise to score a maiden victory

Although the TF107 has shown flashes of speed and scored several points scoring finishes, Trulli is downbeat about his team's chances of moving up the order and taking a top three result on pure pace.

"I think we have to be realistic and say we can score points and this is the most important thing," said the Italian.

"Anything can happen in F1, you can also get on the podium when you don't expect it, but realistically we don't have the pace to say we can fight for the podium.

"We can only fight for the remaining points I would say."

Trulli says he is unsure about just how competitive their car is at the moment, with its form being inconsistent race by race.

"It is difficult to judge at the moment because sometimes Renault are ahead, sometimes we are ahead, and it depends on circuits and circumstances. There are a few variables.

"It depends how strong we can be in developing the car. It is all about that.

"Also the other teams will make some work and they will move ahead, so we have to work hard to keep up with the game."
