Fry welcomes Mosley's stance

Honda Racing boss Nick Fry has welcomed FIA president Max Mosley's belief that his team are not involved in the spy saga surrounding ex-Ferrari engineer Nigel Stepney

Fry met with Stepney and McLaren chief designer Mike Coughlan earlier this year to discuss future job opportunities.

And with information belonging to Ferrari allegedly being subsequently found at Coughlan's house, Honda issued a statement confirming that such confidential data had not been offered to them.

Although an FIA investigation into McLaren's involvement is ongoing, Mosley made it clear at the weekend that he did not believe Honda had done anything wrong.

"There is no suggestion that Honda are in any way involved in this business," said Mosley.

Fry is happy with Mosley's verdict, but has said that his team will happily cooperate with any future investigations into the matter if requested to do so.

"The thing that I was genuinely pleased about was what Max had to say," said Fry. "I got home late on Saturday night and looked on teletext and saw that Max had made comments in our direction that were positive.

"Then I actually read on autosport.com an interview of what he said. Obviously we will provide any detail that the FIA want. But he has got the situation neatly summed up."
