Glock warns Zuber about first corner

GP2 Series leader Timo Glock has said both he and iSport teammate Andi Zuber "need to be clever" at the first corner of tomorrow's race at Magny-Cours if he is to consolidate his championship lead

Glock holds a comfortable advantage at the head of the standings, with Zuber down in tenth after a series of gearbox problems have ruined his last few races.

Glock will start from pole tomorrow, with Zuber alongside, but the German pointed to Magny-Cours' tricky first corner, which funnels the cars through a left-hander before the long, right-hand sweep of Estoril corner.

"I have to think about the championship, but I also want to win," said Glock. "We have to be clever at the first corner.

"We have to watch out for Bruno [Senna, who qualified third] because he'll want to get between us at the very least. But Andi is still the man to beat, and it's good that we're pushing each other on."

Second placed Zuber said: "I'm very confident about the start and the race tomorrow. I was expecting pole today, but Timo was quicker than me."

Senna, meanwhile, hopes the weather might upset the form book: "If it rains tomorrow, like they say, then I think I will be able to challenge them more."
