H14: Audi still in control

The first signs of dawn are beginning to appear in the sky over the eastern part of the circuit, but on the track the situation has remained largely unchanged through the 14th hour at Le Mans

Audi remains in control, but with Allan McNish setting a new fastest lap of 3:27.204 in the leading car, they are clearly not interested in cruising.

Marco Werner still holds on to second in the No. 1 Audi R10, and Nicolas Minassian has slipped back behind the wheel of the third-placed No. 7 Peugeot 908 to see whether the French team can come up with any answers to the pace of their rivals.

Further back, Stephane Sarrazin in the other Peugeot is making a dent in the gap to the fourth-placed Pescarolo, which now has Romain Dumas in the drivers' seat.

The Peugeot is lapping considerably quicker and seems certain to take the place eventually, but with a two-lap deficit to make up, it won't happen for a while yet.

The Binnie Motorsports Lola still leads the LMP2 class, and GT1 honours remain in the hands of Aston Martin, with Tomas Enge in the 007 car just 6 seconds ahead of David Brabham in 009.

Risi Competizione have a two-lap lead in the GT2 class; Jaime Melo now at the wheel of the No. 97 Ferrari.
