H13: All quiet on the Audi front

Some of the backmarkers may be having a fraught time in the small hours of the morning at Le Mans, but the 13th hour of the race has been a quiet one for the leaders

The No. 2 Audi still leads, and registered its 200th lap just as the hour ticked to a close, whereupon Tom Kristensen pitted and handed the car over to Allan McNish.

The other Audi looks equally comfortable in second place with Marco Werner behind the wheel.

Peugeot continues to lead the chase, with Jacques Villeneuve maintaining third in the No. 7 car.

The French manufacturer may not have made much of an impression on the leading Audis, but the team can draw some consolation from the fact that the difference in lap times between the 908 and the Audi R10 has closed up somewhat in the past couple of hours.

The No. 16 Pescarolo remains in fourth, a lap ahead of the second Peugeot.

The Binnie Motorsports Lola is looking very safe in LMP2 for the time being, but that doesn't mean the team are taking it easy - Chris Buncombe set the car's fastest lap of the race shortly after the halfway mark.

Aston Martin remain in charge of GT1, the No. 007 car now almost a minute clear of the No. 009 entry and a lap ahead of Jan Magnussen in the pursuing Corvette.

Meanwhile, Johnny Mowlem has jumped into the GT2 class-leading Risi Competizione Ferrari F430 to give Mika Salo a break, and holds a three-lap class lead.

The Chamberlain-Synergy Lola LMP1 team continue to have a tough race. The car found itself stranded in the middle of the circuit before it finally got going again and made its way back to the pits.

There have also been dramas for Rollcentre Racing, who were forced to pit their Pescarolo to have problems with the front right wheel dealt with.
