H8: Audi No. 2 leads by two laps
The No. 2 Audi R10 has moved two laps clear of the No. 1 car in the eighth hour after Frank Biela had to make an extra pitstop
The safety car was out for nearly 30 minutes after Felipe Ortiz crashed the Creation car, and Biela had to return to the pits after taking over from Marco Werner due to a minor electrical problem.
The Audis were together on track at the restart, but Capello has been pulling away from Biela by at least two seconds a lap.
Nicolas Minassian is back in the No. 7 Peugeot, and the Frenchman has set the best lap for a Peugeot in the race. However, his 3:31.330 still doesn't compare to the 3:27 that Allan McNish set earlier in the race for Audi.
The Quifel-ASM Lola team are back in the lead of LMP2, after the No. 33 Zytek headed for the garage and dropped down to 16th position overall.
The Prodrive Aston Martins are still running first and second in GT1, while the sole remaining works Corvette is more than two minutes back.
The Saleens are now setting a good pace in the class, but the Oreca team have admitted that they were too cautious in the early stages of the race.
Risi Competizione now have a lead of more than one lap in GT2, while the Team Autolando Porsche is now in second. Scuderia Ecosse driver Tim Mullen is only a few seconds behind Allan Simonsen though.
The No. 17 Pescarolo has had to retire from the race during the eighth hour, as the oil problems that have plagued the team proved to be terminal.
