H6: Audi now a lap ahead

The No. 2 Audi R10 is now one lap ahead of the second-place car after six hours of the Le Mans 24 Hours

Allan McNish has been comfortably faster than Marco Werner in the No. 1 Audi while the pair have been on track together, but the German driver is comfortably the second-fastest driver on the track.

The No. 7 Peugeot dropped to fourth place briefly when the French team worked on the front of the 908 in the pits, but Jacques Villeneuve was soon back ahead of the Pescarolo of Romain Dumas to regain third position.

Villeneuve is two laps adrift of McNish, and he is lapping considerably faster than the Pescarolo, while Benoit Treluyer is running fifth in the privateer team's second car.

The No. 8 Peugeot was wheeled into the garage for the second time in the race at around 8:25pm local time, although the delay was much shorter than it was the previous time the mechanics went to work on the car.

Stephane Sarrazin is still behind the wheel, although he has dropped further back and is now in ninth position.

Adrian Fernandez has returned to the cockpit of the LMP2-leading Zytek, which is still one lap ahead of the Quifel - ASM Lola.

The Prodrive Aston Martins were separated by less than two seconds at the head of the GT1 field before Rickard Rydell made a pit stop in the No. 009 car, while Ron Fellows is still on the lead lap for Corvette in third place.

The Risi Competizione Ferrari still leads the GT2 class, but Johnny Mowlem is now leading Jorg Bergmeister in the Flying Lizards Porsche, after Patrick Long suffered a puncture in the Imsa Performance Porsche while running second.

Bergmeister did have a drama though when he returned to the pits with a missing door, but the team did not lose a lot of time as they replaced it.

Another GT2 team to have problems were last year's winners Team LNT, as the No. 81 car stopped out on track.
