H2: Audi lose one, but still lead
Audi remained on top at the end of what was otherwise a tough second hour for the German manufacturer
The No. 2 car, now with Tom Kristensen at the wheel, is still at the top of the timesheets, but the weekend may be over for Audi Sport Team Joest's No. 3 entry after Mike Rockenfeller crashed heavily at Tertre Rouge, causing major damage to the R10.
Rockenfeller was not the only driver to crash out during the second hour. Team Bruichladdich will take no further part in the race after Tim Greaves lost control of the team's LMP2 Radical at the Porsche Curves and hit the barriers.
With much of the running having been under yellows, changes in position have tended to happen in pitlane rather than on the track, although Peugeot's Nicolas Minassian did manage an overtaking move on Audi's Emanuele Pirro.
Emanuel Collard is second in the petrol-driven Pescarolo, with the Peugeots of Minassian and Marc Gene right behind him.
Warren Hughes continues to lead LMP2 in the Quifel Lola. The No. 25 MG Lola that has won its class for the last two years was sitting in second, but ground to a halt just as the second hour was coming to an end.
There has been drama in GT1 too, with the front-running No. 64 Corvette coming to a halt by side of the track with what early reports suggest may be driveshaft problems.
Darren Turner currently leads the class in the No. 009 Aston Martin, ahead of Jan Magnussen in the No. 63 Corvette and Tomas Enge's No. 007 Aston Martin.
Allan Simonsen leads GT2 in the Autorlando Sport Porsche 911.
A large hole remains in the Armco where Rockenfeller's car went in, and although officials are attempting to repair it, it seems that the race may remain under yellows for some time yet.
