Aguri may go to court over van der Garde

Super Aguri's managing director Daniel Audetto says his team are ready to pursue legal action against the Spyker team following Giedo van der Garde's move

The Dutchman was announced as a third driver for Spyker just one day after testing for Super Aguri, with whom he had signed a contract in December.

Van der Garde's first and only test with Super Aguri was restricted to just a handful of laps at Valencia, with Audetto saying the Dutch driver had failed to fulfil some of his commitments with the team.

"Giedo should have completed the 300 kms necessary for the F1 superlicense, but we instead had to restrict his run to a few installation laps because his company didn't fulfil on time the commitments they had with us," Audetto was quoted as saying by Autosprint magazine.

Despite that, Audetto says they still have a valid contract with van der Garde, and that the team are ready to go to courts if necessary.

"What Spyker have done, however, is incomprehensible," he added. "Van de Garde signed with us, a month ago, a contract deposited at the FIA office in Geneva. It's by all means valid and we are ready to pursue legal action."
