Comtec confirm 2007 line-up

Reigning World Series by Renault champions Comtec Racing have confirmed their driver line-up for 2007

Renault Megane Trophy champion Jaap van Lagen will lead the team's assault, with Formula Three graduate Alejandro Nunez also joining the team.

"Jaap is the sort of racer I like because he works hard, and we are going to teach Alejandro throughout the year," team boss Jonathan Lewis said on the central stage at the Autosport International show.

"Jaap did a few races for us last year so he is known to the team, and hopefully we can work on certain areas with Alejandro and he can score points to help Jaap in the championship."

Van Lagen said: "I did some races with the team last year and they worked really hard, so I like them a lot.

"They fought as hard as they could, and this is the best place to be in World Series."

Nunez is less experienced, but the Spaniard is hoping to spend his first year in the series learning in particular from the team's driver coach Martin Donnelly.

"I have a lot to learn," he said. "My expectations are to be at the front by the end of the season."
