Kenseth pleased with second
Matt Kenseth has said he is happy to finish second to Jimmie Johnson in the NASCAR Nextel Cup this year
The Roush driver struggled towards the end of the season as Johnson built up momentum, but he said that it had been a great season.
"You always want to win, but with everything that goes on in the Chase for the championship, I'm happy to finish second to Jimmie," he said.
"Those guys have been the guys to be for the past four years really. They've been fast and consistent, and they deserve the championship."
Kenseth admitted that his poor results in some of the final races of the year had got him down, simply because of how well he had been running during the summer.
"If we had run in the Chase like we did in August, we would have been 200 points clear before Homestead," he said.
"If you look at all the problems people had in the Chase and we didn't have any, that was dragging me down.
"But this is probably one of the best seasons I've ever had. I won four races, and we could have won eight or nine."
