Honda delighted for Davidson
Honda Racing's sporting director Gil de Ferran said the Japanese squad are delighted that Anthony Davidson has finally landed a racing drive
Davidson, 27, will race for Super Aguri next season after six seasons as Honda's test and reserve driver.
The British driver made his Grand Prix debut with the Minardi team in 2002, but has only competed in three races since then.
"On behalf of everyone at the Honda Racing team, I would like to offer our congratulations to Anthony on his new role at the Super Aguri team," said de Ferran.
"We are absolutely delighted that Anthony has achieved his long-standing ambition of a Formula One race drive, a role that he certainly deserves.
"In his six years with our team, Anthony's commitment, loyalty and overall contribution have been crucial to our continued progress and competitiveness.
"Whilst we are sad to lose such a valuable asset, we wish him all the very best of luck and are pleased to know that he will be remaining within the Honda family."
Davidson will join Japanese Takuma Sato at the Honda-powered Super Aguri team next season.
