Glock's BMW test postponed

GP2 front-runner Timo Glock's hopes of testing for BMW Sauber at Jerez next week have been dashed with the German's recovery from a hand injury taking longer than expected

The German hurt his right wrist and hand in a crash during the GP2 feature race at Monza, and he has been undergoing a programme at the sport clinic in Bad-Nauheim to get him back in shape.

Although it was hoped that Glock would be fit in time to run for BMW Sauber at Jerez next week, his slower than expected recovery means he will now have to sit it out.

It is understood, however, that Glock will likely get a run with the team during one of the winter tests in December. The German has already had hit seat fitting at BMW-Sauber's Hinwil factory.

Glock has not confirmed those plans, but has made it clear that the primary concern for him at the moment is getting his wrist and hand back in shape.

"Talks are still taking place, but the first thing is that my hand must be right again," said Glock.
