Montagny to return to Aguri in China
Franck Montagny will return to Super Aguri as their third driver for the Chinese Grand Prix, despite making his test debut for Toyota at Silverstone today
The Frenchman is close to agreeing terms to become Toyota's third and reserve driver for 2007, replacing Renault-bound Ricardo Zonta.
Although the deal has not been finalised, Montagny had his first outing with the Japanese manufacturer at Silverstone today.
The outing has made no difference to his end-of-season plans, however, with the Honda-powered Super Aguri team making it clear that Montagny will return to them for next weekend's event in Shanghai.
Aguri's managing director Daniele Audetto told autosport.com: "He is still contracted to us. At the moment he has been released to Toyota for this test, after the team requested him to run at Silverstone."
Montagny is likely to complete the season with Super Aguri, but there is a chance that GP2 front-runner Hiroki Yoshimoto could get an outing at one of the races if he comes up with a suitable sponsorship budget.
The Japanese driver was an onlooker with the team at Silverstone today.
