Renault dominate practice 3 - Canada

World champions Renault dominated the final free practice session for the Canadian Grand Prix, with Fernando Alonso beating teammate Giancarlo Fisichella by just six hundredths of a second

The 24-year-old Spaniard lapped the Montreal circuit in 1:15.455 at the end of the session, while Fisichella put in a time of 1:15.521.

BMW-Sauber were equally impressive, Jacques Villeneuve giving the home crowd something to cheer about by setting the third best time - less than a tenth of a second behind Alonso, and just six hundredths of a second ahead of teammate Nick Heidfeld.

McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen was third fastest, nearly half a second slower than Alonso.

Michael Schumacher was sixth for Ferrari, but the seven times world champion was incensed by Raikkonen on his final flying lap, believing the Finn had blocked him. He raised a hand out of the car in disgust as he passed the Finn.

The tricky Turn 15 chicane continued to catch out drivers, but none repeated Midland driver Tiago Monteiro's Friday morning crash, most electing to cut across the corner's concrete run-off area or to come into the pitlane.

Honda's Jenson Button took things a step too far, as he was stripped of a lap time early on due to not slowing down enough when he missed the corner.
