Raikkonen still undecided on F1 future
Finn Kimi Raikkonen kept everybody guessing where his future lies on Thursday after claiming he is not 100 per cent sure where he will drive next year
The McLaren driver, whose future has been linked with both Ferrari and Renault when his current contract expires at the end of the season, showed no signs of being in a hurry to announce his plans.
"It is no worry. I am happy with what is happening now and I don't really need to worry about next year or any other year, so let's see what happens," Raikkonen said ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix.
"For sure we will know at some point this year what is happening for me.
"I think there are many things that I want to be 100 percent sure about. And it could all be decided by the small things, but in the end it is the big thing.
"I need to wait a little time and wait and see where we are going with our team and then there are a few options," he added.
Raikkonen, runner-up to Fernando Alonso in last year's championship, has recently been linked with a move to fill the Spaniard's seat at Renault.
Speculation became rampant following the announcement that Giancarlo Fisichella, who has struggled to match his teammate's results, had renewed his contract with Renault to stay on in 2007.
Raikkonen had also been rumoured to be on his way to Ferrari, should seven-time champion Michael Schumacher decided to retire.
The Finn said his decision would not be influenced by what his rivals do.
"It doesn't make my decision any different. In the end I make a decision that I think is right for me."
Rumours about Raikkonen's future have been constant this year, more so since McLaren have showed not enough pace to fight for race wins. Raikkonen is already out of the title battle, 41 points behind Alonso.
"For sure, after last year everybody from the team was expecting us to be fighting for the championship and winning races but it hasn't been the case this year," said Raikkonen.
"But we are not in such a strong position as last year so it is not the level of confidence is not as high as it was last year.
"We think so we have a good car and so many things can happen, but we need to do the best we can."
