Briatore to decide future before August

Renault boss Flavio Briatore has said that he will make a decision about his future before Formula One's summer break in August

The flamboyant Italian's contract with the reigning world champions runs out at the end of year, and Briatore has said over recent months that he was unsure about whether he wanted to continue in the sport.

But on the back of Renault's decision to commit to F1 until the end of 2012, Briatore has said he now has everything he believes he needs to continue to be able to do his job - and now it is just a question of deciding whether he has the personal motivation to carry on.

"It is not easy to put together a winning team every time," said Briatore in an interview with The Daily Express. "I enjoy working with these people, that is my motivation. It is simple. You find great people to work with you and then you work for success. You don't need to spend crazy money.

"After the 100 per cent commitment behind the team from the chairman, I see my position a little different with the team. I will decide at the end of July because the job is very demanding. If you are doing it, you must do it 100 percent.

"After the commitment from the president of Renault I have pretty much what I want, what I want to achieve, to have the ability to continue to win.

"But this job takes 90 percent of your time. I enjoy what I do at this moment but tomorrow I don't know. The motivation is there but I am living day by day."

Renault F1 president Alain Dassas said last month he did not want to even think about the possibility of Briatore deciding not to continue with the team.

"Let's say it like this: we don't want to envision that for the moment," he explained.
