New calendar delayed until June

A1 Grand Prix organisers have delayed announcing their second season calendar until next month

Following last month's board meeting in South Africa, A1 Grand Prix CEO Bruce Holmes insisted that a full calendar would be released by the end of May.

However, A1 GP's deputy chairman Tony Teixeira has said that the schedule will be now be unveiled within the next three weeks.

Teixeira told autosport.com: "We've already have sorted 10 out of the 12 races we are going to run but we want to make the dates more permanent fixtures.

"We have been agreeing multi-year deals because we want to people to rely on A1 going to Australia at the end of November for example.

"As time goes by we would like a 50-50 balance of road courses to street circuits and we will have some more in season two. But we are going to go to where people want us and not the other way around.

"Tracks are going to pay us to come and events are going to be properly promoted."

Only the first round at Zandvoort in October has so far been confirmed.
