Valencia MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo quickest again in practice two
Jorge Lorenzo stayed on top in second practice for MotoGP's Valencia season finale, his Yamaha farewell
First practice pacesetter Lorenzo led the way again for the bulk of the session, his early 1m31.162s clear by 0.472 seconds at one stage in the first half.
Marc Marquez then moved to the front with a little over 10 minutes remaining, setting the weekend's first laps beneath the 1m31s barrier on his Honda.
The 2016 world champion reeled off four consecutive 1m30s laps at the start of his final run, with 1m30.710s becoming the new benchmark by 0.452s.
That advantage was trimmed, though, by Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso and Tech3 Yamaha's Pol Espargaro, before Maverick Vinales got within 0.065s of Marquez with two minutes left.
By that time, Lorenzo had fallen to fifth in the order but he was back on track, and he quickly reclaimed top spot.
Lorenzo's 1m30.463s was good enough to complete a sweep of Friday's two sessions, 0.247s faster than Marquez, with Vinales third ahead of Espargaro and Dovizioso.
Vinales' Suzuki team-mate Aleix Espargaro was sixth, ahead of Andrea Iannone and Valentino Rossi on the second Yamaha, 0.794s slower than Lorenzo.
Danilo Petrucci took ninth for Pramac Ducati, ahead of Dani Pedrosa, Cal Crutchlow and Scott Redding.
Yonny Hernandez became the weekend's first faller in MotoGP with 90s remaining on his way to 18th, crashing at Turn 12.
KTM was at the base of the times again, with Mika Kallio 3.111s off the pace, lapping four tenths faster than he managed in the morning session.
