Mid-Ohio IndyCar: Will Power tops practice for Penske before rain
Will Power topped the second IndyCar practice at Mid-Ohio before rain bought the session to an early end
Power set a time of 1m04.196s for Team Penske just before the rain came, claiming top spot from Tony Kanaan in second - who had battled with Power throughout the session.
Championship leader Simon Pagenaud was third, while Graham Rahal was the fastest of the Honda pack in fourth place.
In fifth and sixth were Josef Newgarden and Charlie Kimball, with rookie RC Enerson impressing on his series debut with seventh.
Spencer Pigot for Ed Carpenter Racing and James Hinchcliffe of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports were eighth and ninth respectively and five-time Mid-Ohio winner Scott Dixon rounded out the top 10 - despite finishing on top of the earlier session.
The rain, which had threatened throughout the session, came with 25 minutes to go sending the whole field diving back into the pitlane.
Former Formula 1 drivers Juan Pablo Montoya, who was placed 17th, and Sebastien Bourdais, who was placed 19th, were the only drivers to venture back onto the circuit fitted with wet tyres - but ultimately practice was red-flagged with seven minutes remaining.
