Kimi Raikkonen wants to stay with Ferrari in F1 2017

Ferrari left it until the summer break in 2015 to announce it would re-sign Raikkonen for another season, and already this year Daniel Ricciardo, Valtteri Bottas, Nico Rosberg, Sergio Perez and Romain Grosjean are said to be in the frame to partner Sebastian Vettel in 2017.

When asked if there was a deadline in place to find out his future, Raikkonen said: "I don't know any more.

"You guys seem to know a lot every week. It's not my decision in the end.

"I've always said I'm happy to be here and I hope I will be here to help Ferrari to get where we want to get as a team.

"What happens in the future we will see."

Team principal Maurizio Arrivabene has refused to criticise Raikkonen publicly, shrugging off his Monaco performance as Monte Carlo just being a weak circuit for the Finn.

It is anticipated that Ferrari will wait until at least the summer break before announcing its driver line-up for next year.

Should Raikkonen continue his current form, which is one point better off than he was after six races last year, Ferrari may be inclined to keep him, especially considering his good working relationship with Vettel.

Ferrari has introduced a new turbo for this weekend, with a spend of two development tokens taking its tally to 28 with just four remaining.

Raikkonen is hopeful it will be a step forward, but he's not expecting "miracles" as the team looks to close the gap to Mercedes.

"This is a step forward," he said. "How much?

"We don't put new parts in the car if it we don't think it improves it, but we don't know what kind of step.

"We're not expecting miracles suddenly, but it's the right direction.

"It's like any other new parts we bring, it's not going to be something magic."
