Takuma Sato leads AJ Foyt one-two in Barber IndyCar practice
Takuma Sato led Jack Hawksworth in an AJ Foyt Racing one-two in Friday's second IndyCar Series practice session at Barber Motorsports Park
The afternoon practice was slightly delayed and began on a damp track due to a storm that passed over the Alabama venue following the opening session.
After a cagey start while the circuit dried, positions changed rapidly as conditions improved in the second half of the session.
Sato moved to the top late on with a 1m07.2157s lap, before Hawksworth snuck in behind him with a time 0.040 seconds adrift.
Schmidt Peterson driver James Hinchcliffe completed an all-Honda top three.
Graham Rahal's presence in fifth behind Will Power made it four Hondas in the top five.
Josef Newgarden spent a while in first place before ending up sixth, while morning pacesetter Sebastien Bourdais was back in 10th behind Simon Pagenaud, Juan Pablo Montoya and Scott Dixon.
