Derani and Cumming join OAK-run ESM LMP2 squad for 2016 WEC

Brazilian Luis Felipe 'Pipo' Derani will remain with OAK Racing when it takes over the running of the Extreme Speed Motorsports Ligier LMP2s in next year's World Endurance Championship

The 22-year-old, who finished third in this year's WEC P2 standings driving for OAK under the G-Drive banner, has joined the team along with Canadian Chris Cumming.

Cumming drove for OAK at the Le Mans 24 Hours and then contested the final three WEC rounds aboard the Morand Morgan-Judd/BMW EVO.

They join existing ESM drivers Scott Sharp, Ed Brown, Ryan Dalziel and Johannes van Overbeek to complete the team's 2016 line-up aboard its pair of Ligier JSP2 coupes.

Derani said: "When ESM partnered with OAK Racing for 2016, it made sense to be part of this new and exciting chapter.

"I have seen how both companies operate and this gives me great confidence that we can become the benchmark in LMP2 for 2016."

Team boss Sharp described the new signings as "excellent additions to our effort".

ESM has yet to announce which engine will power its pair of Ligiers next season.
