FR3.5 leader Oliver Rowland returns to GP2 for Spa round
Formula Renault 3.5 championship leader Oliver Rowland is to make his second appearance in GP2 in next week's Belgian Grand Prix support round at Spa
Rowland, the 2011 McLaren AUTOSPORT BRDC Award winner, will once again drive alongside Daniel de Jong for MP Motorsport, the Dutch-based squad with which he contested the Silverstone event.
The 23-year-old finished 10th in the feature race at Silverstone, before claiming seventh in the reversed-grid sprint race.
"It's another great opportunity for me to show what I can do," said Racing Steps Foundation-backed Rowland.
"I've driven the car now, and I've raced at Spa already this year [taking a win in the FR3.5 round], so I reckon I'm probably on a par with everyone this time around - podium finishes are the target."
MP boss Sander Dorsman added: "Oliver's a top driver and we're glad to have him back with us.
"He scored points in both races at Silverstone so there's no reason why he can't take a big step forwards at Spa."
Rowland first drove under the MP umbrella in 2013, his second season in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup, when he competed with the Manor MP Motorsport squad.
"We won together at the circuit in FR2.0 in 2013, so let's see what we can do together this time," said Dorsman.
