Hungarian GP: Ferrari has "lots to clean up" - Sebastian Vettel

Vettel managed only 14 laps in FP1 due to a shortage in the electrical system of his car, while team-mate Kimi Raikkonen suffered a front-wing failure towards the end of the session the team is still investigating.

Although FP2 was less problematic, Vettel and Raikkonen could only manage seventh and fifth on the timesheet respectively, finishing a long way adrift of the pacesetting Lewis Hamilton.

"We didn't have the best day, with two or three things which slowed us down," said Vettel, who spun twice in the afternoon.

"I didn't get into a rhythm which makes things a bit tricky,"

"We lost some time stuck in the garage this morning, and Kimi had his problem with the front wing which meant we both didn't run as much as we would like.

"All in all there is lots to go through, lots to clean up, and then we should be OK.

"Today is not the most representative day with our performance, but we have the capability to do well tomorrow.

"The priority now is to make sure we clean up everything, sort things out, and get a good start tomorrow."

Raikkonen also appreciates the team "has some work to do for tomorrow" after a slightly more troubling Friday than normal.

Assessing the issue with his front wing, which the Finn ran over after it had worked loose over the exit kerb Turn 12 right-hander, he said: "It just broke suddenly. It just came off.

"That damaged the front wheel and the front tyre. Obviously it's not ideal when the front wing breaks.

"We don't know the reason why yet. The team is looking into it to find the reason behind that."

Despite the day's difficulties, Raikkonen saw enough to suggest Ferrari can still be competitive around the Hungaroring.

"The car doesn't feel too bad," he said. "Obviously the lap times are still not great and we've still some work to do for tomorrow.

"We can improve tomorrow and Sunday. Hopefully we will do that, but we have to get things correct and do a good lap."
