Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo tops MotoGP's post-Spanish GP test
Jorge Lorenzo followed up his dominant Spanish Grand Prix win by topping Monday's MotoGP test at Jerez, on his 28th birthday
Lorenzo and team-mate Valentino Rossi gave Yamaha a one-two in 2015's first in-season test, lapping 0.042 seconds apart.
The duo were working on set-up tweaks rather than developments, and were three tenths clear of Cal Crutchlow in third for LCR Honda.
Aleix Espargaro kept Suzuki near the front with fourth place.
The factory Honda team had a tentative day. Marc Marquez only tested briefly as he took things gently while continuing to recover from his hand injury - though he still lapped fifth quickest ahead of Bradley Smith.
Hiroshi Aoyama carried out more running on the second factory Honda, despite having a sore shoulder from a massive crash in Sunday's race. He was only 19th fastest.
The works Ducati team chose to leave Jerez to test in private at Mugello instead, but the Italian firm's satellite squads stayed on.
Yonny Hernandez was top Desmosedici rider in seventh, with Scott Redding's Marc VDS Honda, Maverick Vinales's Suzuki and Pol Espargaro's Tech 3 Yamaha completing the top 10.
The Gresini-run Aprilia programme had an encouraging race weekend, and Alvaro Bautista maintained that momentum into the test, going 11th fastest.
